A beautiful tie

What a great game we had last Sunday.  The Lions have a habit of always bringing out the best in our team, and the last game was no exception.  Each team played hard, and there was a good balance in almost every aspect.

Our goal came off a mistake from their goal kick.  Rafael intercepted the kick and then lofted a shot into the upper right corner of the goal.  Their goal came when there was no communication on a ball between our defender and our goalie.  These things happen, and only get better with experience.

But I thought we had good control of the game, with a lot of good opportunities.  Henry's header shot at 45', and Khoi's free kick to Charlie who got passed the defensive line at 58' were all very exciting.  Great passing and defensive overlap.  Even saw a couple of offensive wraparound and inside runs.  But the best part was how AJ demonstrated his foot skills.  He's been practicing and it shows.  He has pacing, can switch from slow to fast, he protected the ball in close quarters, and he made a couple of cutbacks.  Really sweet.

It's great to see these boys develop.  We have a couple of tough matches ahead, but I'm confident we will be competitive in those games.  Geaux blue!
